Conor Gallagher hails Patrick Vieira influence after Crystal Palace youngster scoops award

Conor Gallagher has hailed Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira for giving him the platform and confidence to shine this season.

The Chelsea loanee has impressed at Palace and was named Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards on Thursday night.

Gallagher has eight goals and five assists so far and is flourishing under Vieira.

“I feel like the gaffer knows how to get the best out of me," Gallagher told the Palace club website.

"He knew how he wants me to play and the best way I can show what I can do. He told me this at the start of the season and has given me confidence throughout the season by playing me as much as he has and having trust in me.

“Receiving this award, he’s a big part of it. He’s been amazing to work under.

“I’ve got to give a lot of credit to Crystal Palace. They’ve given me the confidence and platform to show people what I can do.”
