Cristiano Ronaldo in awkward Bruno Fernandes exchange after bombshell Man United interview

Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to be on the receiving end of a frosty reception from Manchester United team-mate Bruno Fernandes in the wake of his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo has made a string of stunning claims about the club, attacked manager Erik ten Hag, the club hierarchy and the likes of club legends Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville.

The 37-year-old's interview has been teased since Sunday, just hours after United's final Premier League game against Fulham, ahead of being broadcast in full across Wednesday and Thursday, with Ronaldo linking up with Portugal's World Cup squad in the meantime.

Ronaldo will not see most of his United team-mates for at least another five weeks, if ever again, though will be in close quarters with Fernandes, and Diogo Dalot, in Qatar, and TV cameras picked up what appeared to be an awkward exchange between the pair.

Fernandes initially walked past Ronaldo, seemingly to put down some belongings, as the latter extended a hand in greeting which his team-mate took and then turned around to welcome other members of the squad as Ronaldo looked on.

Ronaldo's future at United appears all but over, but the next few weeks in Doha could also prove a little tricky.
