Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce has hinted he will make "huge changes" to his side for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Tottenham.

The Eagles were in action as recently as Sunday, with Christian Benteke's brace securing a crucial 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield.

But the south Londoners will have little time to dwell on their achievement as they face a quick turnaround before hosting Spurs at Selhurst Park.

Allardyce's side are seven points clear of the drop zone and the 62-year-old is concerned some of his key players will be unable to produce their best against Mauricio Pochettino's men.

"I am worried these lads can't reach this level when they don't have time to recover," he said.

"I may have to make huge changes to make sure we compete with Tottenham.

“38 points has been safe for a long time, but mathematically we’re not safe.

"In our games to go we have to pick up as many points as we can, and then when mathematically we’re safe we’ll have a little celebration,” Allardyce added.

Palace have won six out of their last seven top-flight fixtures to pull clear of the bottom three.

One more victory is likely to be enough to secure the club's Premier League status for another season.
