Crystal Palace are set to sign Chelsea defender Marc Guehi as new manager Patrick Vieira continues the rebuilding job in south London.

Geuhi, who is undergoing a medical with the Eagles today, is set to sign a five-year deal with the club and will become the third signing since Vieira's appointment.

Chelsea have agreed a sell-on clause and the right to match any future sale, similar to the agreement that was in place when Nathan Ake was sold to Bournemouth. It is thought the fee could reach as high as £20million for the England U21 international.

Palace have added Michael Olise from Reading as well as third-choice goalkeeper Remi Matthews.

Guehi is seen as a very bright prospect and spent last season on loan with Swansea, who reached the Championship play-off final under Steve Cooper.

The Eagles are working to drastically bring down the average age of their squad this summer with a number of players leaving at the end of their contracts.

Central defence is a key area with Scott Dann not expected to get a new contract, while Gary Cahill is awaiting clarity on his future.

Another central defender is on Vieira's wish list, along with central midfielders and attacking talent. There is a long-standing interest in Guehi's fellow Chelsea academy graduate, Conor Gallagher.

Wilfried Zaha is still keen to leave the club while both Olise and Eberechi Eze are carrying injuries.
