'Pigs': Palace fans protest against TV deal

Crystal Palace fans have protested against the rising cost of top flight football in the wake of a new £5billion Premier League TV deal.

The record-breaking TV deal saw Sky Sports and BT Sport win the right to broadcast a combined 168 top tier games between 2016 and 2019.

And ahead of Palace's league fixture against Arsenal, supporters in the Holmesdale Road end unfurled a banner which hit out at Premier League 'pigs' for continuing to exploit fans in spite of the unprecedented deal.

The sign read: "£5 billion pounds in the trough yet supporters still exploited. Share the wealth, pigs."

The pre-match tifo comes after a similar banner at Bayern Munich last week said: 'No to the English model'.

Disgruntled Palace fans took to social media this week to complain about the £43 being charged for tickets to their upcoming away fixture at West Ham.
