Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has signed a new three-year-deal at Selhurst Park, the club have announced.

The 31-year-old made 27 Premier League appearances, keeping seven clean sheets, as Roy Hodgson salvaged a horrendous start to the season to stave of relegation in south London.

The Welsh international was in and out of the side at times during the first half of last season but ended as Hodgson’s first choice, starting every game following the 0-0 draw with eventual champions Manchester City on New Year’s Eve.

“I’m really happy to commit my future to the club,” he told the club website.

“I’ve always said how much I enjoy playing football here and the way we ended last season shows what we’re capable of achieving as a team.

“Now I just want to concentrate on preparing for the new season and play my part in helping the club push on to the next level.”
