Crystal Palace are eyeing a move for Galatasaray’s Sacha Boey should a Selhurst Park return not materialise for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Galatasaray bosses are braced for a bid from Palace during this month’s window for 22-year-old Boey, who traded Rennes for Turkey in 2021.

Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray would expect a fee in the region of £16million for a permanent transfer, but are understood to be hopeful of keeping hold of the France Under-20 international.

Boey’s Galatasaray contract runs until 2025, with the defender having proved a regular in helping the Lions top the Turkish top-flight.

Palace are determined to bolster their squad this month, especially off the back of the chastening 4-0 thumping by Spurs at Selhurst Park on Wednesday.

Boey fits Palace’s recruitment profile as a developing player of confirmed pedigree but one continuing to rise through the ranks.

Patrick Vieira is on the lookout for reinforcements in all areas, but the Eagles will also be wary of the mid-season window premium typically applied by selling clubs.

Palace are keen on bringing Wan-Bissaka back to south London, in what would more than likely prove a loan switch.

Wan-Bissaka has impressed for Manchester United since the Premier League’s restart, however, raising suggestions Erik ten Hag might look to keep hold of the 25-year-old for the second half of the season.

The Croydon-born full-back left home-club Palace for United in 2019 and has made almost 100 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit.

Palace, who sit 12th in the Premier League table, have suffered three defeats in their last four matches, with the 2-0 New Year’s Eve victory at Bournemouth their only recent respite.

Defensive additions will be on Palace’s agenda now and in the summer, with Boey expected to remain on the Eagles’ radar should no deal for Wan-Bissaka be forthcoming this month.
