Crystal Palace 0 Huddersfield 3: Tough start for Frank de Boer with Eagles booed off at Selhurst Park

The Frank de Boer era at Crystal Palace got off to a nightmare start as Huddersfield caused a shock with a 3-0 win on their Premier League debut.

An own goal from Joel Ward and a header from Steve Mounie stunned Selhurst Park in the first half.

And Mounie added a third after the break to give Huddersfield a dream start to life in the top-flight.

Palace were booed off at the full-time whistle.

This was the worst possible start for De Boer. The Dutchman wants to implement a new style of play at Palace but his side were disjointed and there is plenty of work to do.

Palace fell behind after 23 minutes when Ward turned the ball into his own net.

It was 2-0 just three minutes later when Aaron Mooy crossed for Mounie to head home.

Huddersfield sealed the win on 78 minutes when Mounie scored his second
