Ivory Coast manager Patrice Beaumelle has said Wilfried Zaha is considering his international future after asking not to be called up for their World Cup qualifiers this month.

Zaha has earned 21 caps for Ivory Coast since making his debut for them in 2017.

The Crystal Palace forward was expected to go away with Ivory Coast to the Africa Cup of Nations in January but his international future is now in doubt.

Zaha has asked to be left out of the Ivory Coast squad for their matches against Mozambique and Cameroon this month and will instead remain at Palace.

“He asked not to come because he comes home sick at each meeting,” said Beaumelle. “He wants to reflect on the rest of his international career."

After playing 74 minutes for Ivory Coast in their win over Malawi in Abidjan last month, Zaha then missed Palace’s 2-2 draw way at Arsenal because of illness.
