David Moyes believes West Ham's first-half performance against Watford was the best he has seen at the club.

Goals from Michail Antonio, Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice put the Hammers 3-0 up after 35 minutes against the Hornets.

While Troy Deeney pulled one back early in the second-half, the hosts regained their composure and held on for a win that moves them six points clear of the relegation zone with a considerable goal difference all but securing their Premier League status for another season.

While both Declan Rice and Mark Noble were critical over the manner in which they allowed Watford to creep back into the contest in the second period, Moyes was blown away by what he saw in the first period.

"It was the best start and the best finishing, clean concise," Moyes said. "I thought we have played better, I thought we played so well in the first half at Norwich.

"We're starting games better, the opening games of the restart we didn't start to well and were onto the players about it but the finishing today was clean when we got the chances. Against Burnley we had chances we didn't take them but we did tonight."
