Is Dele Alli officially ‘back’?

A tough season as seen the Tottenham midfielder fall out of favour under Jose Mourinho, push for a January move to Paris Saint-Germain, and a reunion with Mauricio Pochettino.

But, on Wednesday, Dele rolled back the years with a timely reminder of his obvious talent with a stunning overhead kick goal in the Europa League.

With Spurs leading 4-1 from the away first leg against Wolfsberger, Dele put any lingering doubts to bed inside the opening 10 minutes with a very confident finish.

The midfielder exchanged a one-two with Matt Doherty, then flicked the ball up inside the area with this right boot and beat goalkeeper Manuel Kuttin with a bicycle kick.

It was Dele Alli’s first goal from open play all season, the previous two being penalties in the Europa League.

Jose Mourinho was spotted enthusiastically clapping his approval from the dugout. Is this the start of a revival of fortunes in the second half of the season?
