Dimitri Payet would cost "ridiculous money" to sign this summer but remains happy at West Ham, according to the France international's agent.

Payet moved from Ligue 1 giants Marseille to the Hammers last summer, and enjoyed a superb first season in the Premier League as the forward scored nine goals and registered 12 assists for Slaven Bilic's side.

The 29-year-old was subsequently picked for this summer's European Championships in France by Didier Deschamps and justified his inclusion by scoring the winner in his nation's opening match against Romania on Friday.

Payet said in May it's "very likely" he'll still be at West Ham next season, an assertion echoed by his agent Mark McKay who says only a ridiculous transfer fee would induce the Hammers to part with their star man.

"As far as I am concerned, he's been happy at West Ham and it's down to West Ham that he's in the position that he is in," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"He's doing great now for France and to get him now, you've got to be talking ridiculous money. But football is football, so you never know.

"When he first came last year, we hoped for the best with him. We knew that he was a really good player, but I don't think anyone could really expect what he has gone on to do in the Premier League so far.

"The game against Romania the other night was a joy to watch."
