Crystal Palace are aiming to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Blackpool winger Tom Ince.

Ian Holloway sees the 21-year-old, who he managed at Blackpool, as the ideal replacement for Wilfried Zaha, who has moved to Manchester United.

Ince has also previously been linked with a move to Liverpool, but newly-promoted Palace hope by moving first they can convince the winger to join them instead, the Daily Mirror reports.

Holloway will also look to capitalise on his existing relationship with Ince, who was voted as Championship Young Player of the Year ahead of Zaha last season.

Ince, who came through the youth academy at Liverpool, scored 18 goals as Blackpool finished 15th, attracting interest from several top flight clubs.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is keen to add some depth on the wings to his squad, after Aaron Lennon's injury problems left them short at times last season.

Ince is currently on international duty with the England Under-21 team, who play their final game of the European Championship against Israel this evening.

Holloway is planning several raids on the Championship as he looks to reshape Palace’s squad, with another Blackpool player, Matt Phillips, on his radar, along with Wigan’s Roman Golobart.
