QPR have received a timely boost after striker Eduardo Vargas was handed a work permit and is now in line to make his debut at Manchester United on Sunday.

Vargas joined the club on a season-long loan from Napoli last month, but has not been able to appear for the first team yet due to a delay in getting his visa.

However, he has now been given the all-clear and is expected to be in Harry Redknapp’s squad at Old Trafford.

Redknapp has a lack of options up front following the £10.5m sale of Loic Remy to Chelsea and the failure to buy a striker on deadline day. The only other forwards are Charlie Austin and Bobby Zamora, but now Vargas can be added to the list.

But the 24-year-old and QPR team-mate Mauricio Isla are set to report back for training later than most of the squad this week as they playing for Chile in a friendly against Haiti today in Florida, USA.
