EFL clubs pay tribute to London attack victims with minute's silence

EFL clubs across England paid tribute to the victims of the London terror attack with a minute's silence ahead of kick-off on Saturday.

Westminster terrorist Khalid Masood on Wednesday killed four innocent people, including the fatal stabbing of PC Keith Palmer, before being shot dead by police.

Beginning with the weekend's first game - Millwall's trip to Swindon Town - all 21 League One and League Two games observed the tribute.

England host Lithuania at Wembley on Sunday, with more than 80,000 tickets sold, and the Football Association has confirmed "robust security measures" will be in place for the World Cup qualifier.

The English Football League announced on Thursday its "mark of respect" for those who lost their lives and were effect by the atrocity.

Players of Dundee United and St Mirren also observed their own minute's silence at Fir Park ahead of the Scottish Challenge Cup final on Saturday.

Charlton Athletic, sitting 15th in League One, will pay their own tribute to Palmer who was an Addicks season-ticket holder.

The club have placed a scarf on Palmer’s seat which will remain until the club’s next home game on April 4.
