Emmanuel Adebayor goal helps Togo book cup place

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor scored a vital goal as Togo beat Gabon in yesterday’s play-off to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The £5million summer signing gave Togo a 2-0 lead on the hour. Gabon pulled one back but it wasn’t enough after drawing the first leg 1-1. The tournament will be held in South Africa from January 19 to February 10.
