Eric Dier believes he and the rest of Tottenham's England internationals are 'lucky' to have Mauricio Pochettino after four Spurs players featured prominently in Saturday's 3-2 victory over Germany.

Harry Kane scored the opener against Joachim Low's side while Dele Alli was named man of the match, despite a late miss, and Dier popped up to head home the winner himself.

Danny Rose marked his Three Lions debut with an impressive performance, with Kyle Walker also an unused substitute in Berlin.

The Spurs players took a moment to celebrate their achievement together in the dressing room after the game and Dier is adamant they are all indebted to Pochettino, as his faith in their ability has helped them to force their way into Roy Hodgson's squad.

"We did all get together in the dressing room. It's great for us five - Walks [Kyle Walker] didn't get on but for the five of us to be here was amazing.

"We have to be thankful for our manager [Mauricio Pochettino], for being able to put us in this position by giving us a chance at our club and improving us.

"Us Spurs boys know how lucky we are to have him because he's been brilliant," Dier insisted.

"He demands a lot of us, always wanting us to improve. That's what's made us able to be in the position we are now so we're very grateful for him and we want to repay him," the midfielder added.

Dier's stellar performance in central midfield against Germany has led to suggestions he should be afforded a starting berth at Euro 2016 but the 22-year-old is reluctant to take anything for granted.

“I am not getting carried away now, though. Whether I make the squad is a question for someone else.

“I will just keep trying to do my best like I did in Berlin, for my club as well, and then see where I end up."
