'We are never going home!' - Icelandic commentator loses it again as England are dumped out

Icelandic commentator Gudmundur Benediktsson went viral after celebrating Iceland's victory over Austria on Wednesday, so you can imagine the scenes when they dumped England out.

The Euro 2016 minnows won their first knockout game at a major tournament as goals from Ragnar Sigurdsson and Kolbeinn Sigthorsson saw Iceland come from behind to inflict a humiliating defeat on Roy Hodgson's Three Lions.

Wayne Rooney had put England in front, but Sigurdsson restored parity before Sigthorsson dealt the telling blow as England looked lost for ideas against a well-organised team.

And as Dele Alli glanced Harry Kane's corner wide in the final seconds of the game, it became apparent that England would be packing their bags after failing to clear their second hurdle.

It marked an incredible victory for a country with a population smaller than Croydon and Benediktsson reflected the joy felt across Iceland as the whistle blew.

“This is done! This is done! We are never going home!" Did you see that! Did you see that! Never wake me from this amazing dream,” screamed Benediktsson as referee Damir Skomina called time on the game.

“Boo as you like England! Iceland is going to play France on Sunday. France Iceland! You can go home. You can go out of Europe. You can go wherever the hell you want. England 1 Iceland 2 is the closing score here in Nice. And the fairytale continues.”
