Richarlison's move from Watford to Everton will not end the multi-million compensation battle between the clubs over Marco Silva.

Brazilian winger Richarlison was due to have a medical at Everton on Monday ahead of a transfer that could reach £50million.

It has been suggested the fee was inflated to include a payment to end the bad blood between the clubs, who are locked in a compensation dispute after Watford accused Everton of an illegal approach for Silva when he was in charge at Vicarage Road last season.

But Standard Sport understands Watford will still demand substantial damages from Everton after the deal for Richarlison is completed.

Watford were adamant they would not do business with Everton over Richarlison while they were still fighting for a pay-off for Silva. However, the Hornets felt an offer of more than £40m plus add-ons was too good to reject.

The fee represents a significant profit for Watford, who signed the 21-year-old for £11.5m from Fluminense a year ago.
