Tottenham’s all Premier League clash with high-flying Leicester City is one of the stand-out FA Cup third round ties selected for television coverage next month.
BBC One will show Claudio Ranieri’s team on their visit to White Hart Lane on Sunday 10 January at 4pm, one of five fixtures chosen for broadcast by the channel and BT Sport.
Manchester United’s 48 match run of televised FA Cup fixtures, dating back to a 2005 third round replay against Exeter City, will continue as BT Sport shows their home game against Sheffield United.
The Blades have knocked out the likes of West Ham United, Southampton and Aston Villa on their way to FA Cup and League Cup semi-finals over the last two seasons and will look to add embattled Louis van Gaal to their list of scalps in the third round.
The remaining televised fixtures see Liverpool travel to Exeter for a Friday night tie on the BBC, whilst Wycombe Wanderers will look to heap misery on Premier League strugglers Aston Villa live on BT Sport.
Oxford United vs Swansea City is the final match selected, due for broadcast on BBC Wales only, meaning Chelsea’s tie against lower league opponents, either Leyton Orient or Scunthorpe, has been snubbed by the television schedulers.
