The Football Association are weighing up whether or not to sanction Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze for his restriction-breaching trip to Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.

Palace are understood to be furious with Eze's former club, from which he joined the Eagles for £20million last year, for approving the 22-year-old's request to attend their FA Cup tie against Fulham without consulting them first.

Eze was pictured in the directors’ box not socially distanced and without a mask during the game, with Palace also raising questions over the enforcement of strict guidelines by QPR staff in the stands.

The Eagles say they will deal with the matter internally and it is not yet clear whether or not it will impact Eze's involvement against Arsenal on Thursday. Captain Luka Milivojevic started after breaching London lockdown restrictions at New Year.

Unlike breaches of restrictions from Milivojevic, Tottenham's south American players and West Ham's Manuel Lanzini over the festive period, where the FA left any consequences to the Premier League and their clubs, the governing body could take action against Eze as the breach occurred during their own competition.

QPR have acknowledged it was a mistake to allow Eze to attend, with manager Mark Warburton revealing it was the third time the England U21 had returned for a game this season.
