Fernando Torres feels he should no longer be regarded as a flop at Chelsea because he believes his form has returned back to normal.

Torres will hold talks with Jose Mourinho when he reports for pre-season training next month regarding his future at Chelsea, but he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish international scored his highest tally in a season since his £50m move from Liverpool in 2011 with 22 goals last term.

He has also netted five goals in his last two matches for Spain in the Confederations Cup and Torres believes the time has come for the criticism of his performances to stop.

He said: "In the end I think it is people who remember my first year at Chelsea, which was not good, rather than the current situation. I am happy with how I’m playing even though I am very demanding. Things are getting back to normal for me.

“I feel great, physically good, despite the season being a long one. I feel very comfortable, strong and quick.”
