The head of FIFA's medical committee has revealed that he will support Eva Carneiro during her legal claim against Chelsea and Jose Mourinho.

The former Blues doctor is suing the club for constructive dismissal while Mourinho is also the subject of individual legal action.

Carneiro was dropped from her duties with Chelsea's first-team after Mourinho accused her of being "naive" during a Premier League game against Swansea.

The 42-year-old entered the field of play to treat Eden Hazard, who was down injured, which left the Blues' with just nine men for a passage of play.

Carneiro left her role in west London in September and FIFA medical chief Michel D'Hooghe is adamant that she has his full support and was right to make her way onto the Stamford Bridge pitch to attend to Hazard.

"Of course I support Eva Carneiro. She did her job, she did her duty. When somebody is medically in trouble she has to intervene.

"She has my support and that of the whole medical committee.

"I have had e-mail contact with her and she is very happy with the global support of the medical world in football."

D'Hooghe, who is a Belgian FIFA executive member, has also offered to help Carneiro in her search for a new job in football.

"I can imagine in the short term she might have some problems with that.

"But with her personalty and her competence she must certainly have a great future and if I can help her I will."

Carneiro's case is expected to be heard next year.
