Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams is in talks with Brondby about becoming the Danish club's new manager.

Interim coach Aurelijus Skarbalius is expected to leave at the end of the season and owner Jan Bech Andersen wants to bring in a permanent successor.

Standard Sport revealed last month that Adams, who is currently the director of football at Gabala in Azerbaijan, had held secret talks with the Danish side.

“I can confirm I am talking to Brondby regarding the coach’s position,” Adams said, who is keen to return to management

“I will leave Gabala later in May and I am looking to return to a manager’s job.

"Nothing has been decided yet and I am sure Brondby will chose the right person for the job,” he added.

Brondby are currently fifth in the Danish Superliga, 14 points adrift of leaders F.C. Copenhagen.

Adams retired in 2000 after an illustrious career but has failed to reproduce the success he enjoyed as a player in the dug-out.

The 49-year-old has spent short spells in charge of Wycombe, Portsmouth and Gabela, where he lasted 18 months before returning as director of football.
