Fantasy Premier League tips: FPL transfers, scout and captain options for gameweek 31 deadline today

Marc Mayo2 April 2022

The clock is ticking on Fantasy Premier League managers make their adjustments for gameweek 31.

After a week away due to the international break, managers who have been sat on their hands coming up with all manner of ideas can finally enact them as GW31 looms.

Double gameweeks and the domestic cups delivered a topsy-turvy March in FPL but April begins with some sense of normality.

Every team is in action although it is worth factoring in Burnley and Everton featuring twice as you make your transfers and captain picks.

With the deadline at 11am BST on Saturday, here are our tips for GW31...

Joao Cancelo - £6.9m - Man City

Manchester City have kept six clean sheets in their last seven Premier League games against Burnley and truly have the measure of the Clarets. Cancelo comes with the added bonus of serious attacking prowess and is a ready-made replacement for the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Raheem Sterling - £10.5m - Man City

On the topic of the leaders, Sterling is due a runout after sitting out the last two league matches - and his form in midweek for England suggests he could tear Burnley apart.

Roberto Firmino - £8.7m - Liverpool

The early kick-off curse is a bit of a phenomenon in FPL but Firmino is well-placed to enjoy a good haul against Watford on Saturday. Not part of the Brazil squad over the last week, he could be favoured to start and give his international club mates a bit of a rest.

Maxwel Cornet - £5.9m - Burnley

The double gameweek-backers will have a tough time deciding between a Burnley team hosting Man City and Everton, or the Toffees side facing trips to West Ham and Turf Moor. Everton’s dismal away record should make the Clarets the ones to back.

Kai Havertz - £7.9m - Chelsea

Brentford travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday for a west London derby against a Blues side on top form. Havertz has four goals, an assist, two clean sheets, and five bonus points in his last three games.
