Frank Lampard believes Kepa Arrizabalaga’s crucial late stop against Crystal Palace could be a big moment for the under-pressure goalkeeper at Chelsea.

Kepa made a brilliant save to tip Scott Dann's header on to the post in the final minute of stoppage time as Palace pushed hard for an equaliser.

Chelsea held on to secure a 3-2 win which takes them a step closer to securing Champions League qualification.

Lampard said: “It can be big. It can be important. It is the same with Tammy scoring a goal and his confidence.

"Goalkeepers even more so in a way, confidence is huge when you are in that individual position and he should be boosted. His team-mates should be boosted because he saved us two points as a group.

“That is what Kepa is there for. I am pleased for him. We need that, to be a top team you need keepers making those sorts of saves at important times to pull you through.

"He made a big save for us at the end which is huge. That is what he is there for so credit to him.”

Tammy Abraham came off the bench to score his first goal since the Premier League season resumed, a crucial third before Christian Benteke pegged Chelsea back minutes later.

Lampard added: “It will be really important for Tammy too. He is desperate for goals. He has not scored for a while so it helps his confidence. He took it well and it good for me, so I am pleased with him.”
