Frank Lampard insists he hasn’t considered the possibility of using Olivier Giroud as a makeweight in a deal to bring Wilfried Zaha to Chelsea.

Chelsea are free to sign players in the January window after their transfer ban was lifted and are keen on Zaha as they look to bring in long-term replacements for Willian and Pedro.

Palace will not budge from their £80million valuation of their talisman however, with reports on Wednesday suggesting the Blues could offer Giroud to Palace to try and get a deal done.

Giroud has started just two games this season and has been advised to leave Stamford Bridge in search of greater first-team football opportunities by France coach Didier Deschamps.

But Lampard insists no such arrangement with Palace has been discussed.

“I wouldn't talk about Zaha and the idea of that deal is something I've not considered,” Lampard said following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Brighton.

“I won't talk about Zaha because he's not a player of ours.

“If we have to do business we'll do it in the way we see fit to try to make us better, but we'll do that behind closed doors as opposed to just announcing what we want to do.”
