Gary O'Neil's final West Ham push

14 May 2013

Gary O'Neil has urged his West Ham team-mates to bounce back from defeat at Everton and secure a top-10 finish.

The Hammers were beaten 2-0 in David Moyes’s last game at Goodison Park but will guarantee their place in the top half with victory at home to Reading on Sunday.

O’Neil (above), who has been a regular in Sam Allardyce’s side in recent months, said: “We need to do some work and make sure we finish the season on a high against Reading.

“The aim from the start has been to finish in the top 10 and the fact we’re safe already had no part to play in our performance.

“It was just poor all round but we’ve done enough to justify being around the top 10 so if we can produce a big performance we can get there.”
