Bryan Gil has described Sevilla as the “club of my life” after re-signing for the LaLiga club on loan from Tottenham.

Spurs confirmed the deal on Monday evening after landing Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal, Gil arriving back at the club he left for £21million plus Erik Lamela in 2021.

It is the 21-year-old’s second January switch to LaLiga after a briefly promising stint in Antonio Conte’s team in recent weeks. He spent the second half of last season at Valencia.

Gil was unveiled on Sevilla’s Twitch channel and outlined his delight at returning to Andalusia.

He said: “I arrived here at the age of 9 from Barbate. I was very small and at that time I did not have time to study and go and come back, so I trained once with the team and, with permission from the club, only came on game day.

“For me, Sevilla is the club that has seen me grow and where I have been happy. It is the club of my life.

“I did not expect to return and my agent reminds me that I had told him to stop looking. The affection that both my family and I have for this club is incredible.”
