Brentford were today expected to complete the signing of former Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Tebar.

Tebar was set to move to Griffin Park on a free transfer and become Mark Warburton’s second signing since the club was promoted to the Championship.

The 28-year-old, who left La Liga side Almeria earlier this month, began his career at Real Madrid and made his debut for the Spanish giants under Jose Mourinho in 2010.

Tebar, a former Spain youth international, has also played for Rayo Vallecano and Girona.

Brentford signed Alan Judge on a permanent deal from Blackburn following the midfielder’s successful loan spell at Griffin Park last season.
