Guus Hiddink has revealed he still needs some more convincing to become Chelsea's caretaker manager for the rest of the season.

Hiddink held talks with the club in London this morning and confirmed he set to be in the stands to watch their game against Sunderland tomorrow.

The 69-year-old is expected to reach an agreement with the Blues, who made him their first choice to replace Jose Mourinho on a temporary basis.

Chelsea sit just one place above the relegation zone and with the club admitting Mourinho was sacked because of 'palpable discord' between him and the players.

That has given Hiddink pause for thought and means Mourinho's assistant Steve Holland will take charge of the team against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

Hiddink said: "I want to gain as much information as possible. Chelsea is in a bad situation and there are reasons for that. Before I take a decision, I want to have insight.

"Whether or not I'm visiting their next match depends on my first conversation. Then I'll decide if I should stay in London longer."

However, given Chelsea have taken the decision to sack Mourinho, the club obviously felt confident they had someone lined up to take his place and it wold be a surprise if Hiddink pulled out now.
