Harry Kane becomes Tottenham's all-time leading Premier League goalscorer

Harry Kane has overtaken Teddy Sheringham to become Tottenham's all-time leading Premier League goalscorer.

The Spurs striker matched Sheringham's tally of 97 Premier League goals for Spurs against Everton on Saturday before adding a second in the same game to move clear of the former England striker.

It comes after Kane beat Alan Shearer's record tally for Premier League goals in a calendar year in 2017 and manager Mauricio Pochettino has backed the frontman to continue rewriting the history books.

Speaking ahead of the game against Everton, manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “Of course Harry is going to break all the records. Sure. His quality, mentality and professionalism is top."

Mauricio Pochettino: Tottenham cannot force Harry Kane to stay

Kane's 98 Premier League goals have come in 151 top flight appearances, but the England international will have to go some way to beat Tottenham's all-time leading goalscorer.

Jimmy Greaves scored 220 league goals (266 in all competitions) for Spurs during a nine-year spell at the club in the 1960s.
