Hector Bellerin has reaffirmed his commitment to Arsenal in a bid to quell transfer speculation over his future.

The Spanish defender, valued at over £50million by Arsenal, is a transfer target for Juventus.

The 23-year-old hoped to join Barcelona last summer but the Gunners refused to sell. Though speculation over a transfer this summer is unlikely to ease Bellerin has publicly insisted he is happy in London.

Indeed for the second time this week he has reaffirmed his intention to stay at Arsenal, where he has a contract until 2023, next season.

“I've got a long contract, I have been in London for a very long time, this is what I call my home right now,” Bellerin told Sky Sports.

“There is nothing else I am thinking of, for the summer. We have the World Cup, I don't know if I will be called up or not [to Spain], that is something we will need to wait and see.

“If I get given the chance then I will be really happy for it. Apart from that I am sure I will be coming back here next pre-season.”

Arsene Wenger reflects on Arsenal's 3-1 defeat at Leicester City

Bellerin’s future could, however, depend on who replaces Arsene Wenger as Arsenal manager, particularly if the Gunners want to top up a £50million transfer fund.

However Wenger is convinced his successor can enjoy great success with the current squad and told Standard Sport after Wednesday’s 3-1 defeat at Leicester that the current side are capable of competing for the title.

His players seem to agree.

"We feel we have the potential,” Bellerin insisted. “I think we know it when we play together and when I see all my teammates in training, I feel we are not where we should be.

"That can be due to so many reasons we need to find out and work on them. I am sure we will do. When he [Wenger] says that, I can see the potential we have as a team.

"Player by player, we have so many international players, players who play very well with their national teams and I think he is right.
