Hugo Lloris has challenged Chelsea to match Tottenham’s performances at Wembley Stadium if they are forced to stage home games there.

The Blues could make the national stadium their temporary home in the future if planned redevelopment of Stamford Bridge means they have to move out for a period.

Spurs have played home fixtures at Wembley this term and have already secured qualification for next season’s Champions League. They will finish third if they defeat Leicester there on Saturday.

“You can say whatever you want,” Lloris told BBC London. “Wembley is a special place but it is not our home and we filled it all season. We fought against that all season and I think that’s why we deserve credit for it.

“We will see Chelsea if they going to play in the same way at Wembley, how they are going to manage that. It’s very different.

“We have shown the club is strong and that we are going the right way, which is good for the future.

"It’s exciting next season to have Champions League football in the new stadium for everyone. It’s a big thing.”
