Quique Sanchez Flores is not disappointed about missing out on Emmanuel Adebayor because he only wants players who will buy into the project at Watford.

Watford held talks with Adebayor but he decided on Tuesday to join Crystal Palace on a deal until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old forward admitted yesterday he would have to use Google to find out about his new club and their history.

Watford boss Flores said: “We are not disappointed because we love to have players who want to come here. Players who feel Watford. This is a project, this is not about individual players.

“[Our players] know Watford perfectly. How many people are living in Watford, how many people are in the stands at Watford, what our position is and what our history is.

"The player decides where he wants to play. If he did not find enough reasons to come here, we cannot do anything.”

Fiorentina midfielder Mario Suarez, 28, was due to undergo a medical today ahead of a £4m move to Vicarage Road.

The club are also interested in 19 year-old Liverpool forward Jerome Sinclair.
