Manchester United manager David Moyes was left cursing his luck after Manchester United fell to defeat at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

Moyes was able to start club-record signing Juan Mata alongside both Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie for the first time since he signed the Spaniard from Chelsea last month.

But Charlie Adam made sure the Reds fell to their eighth defeat of the season – already three more than the five losses they suffered in their title-winning campaign last year.

And speaking after the game, the 50-year-old confessed he's unsure about which steps to take as he tries to rediscover a winning habit.

"I don't know what we have to do to win,” Moyes confessed.

"I thought we were extremely unlucky. We played well in difficult conditions but we have lost to one wicked deflection and one worldy.

"But we should have been out of sight with the amount of opportunities we had today and we only have ourselves to blame."
