I knew it would be difficult to adapt to Tottenham, says Christian Eriksen

Christian Eriksen admits he has found his first season in English football tough despite some encouraging displays for Tottenham.

Of the seven signings Spurs made last summer, at a cost of more than £100million, Eriksen has shone brightest and was outstanding in the 5-1 win over Sunderland earlier this week.

The Denmark playmaker hopes to repeat that performance at West Brom tomorrow but he conceded that life hadn’t always been easy following his move from Ajax last summer.

“I knew it would be difficult from the beginning, it has been, everything is new and I’ve had to adapt to a lot of new things, a lot of new people,” he said. “But it’s been a fun time and it’s a pleasure playing here.

“I’m looking forward to the final five games of the season. We knew we had to bounce back from the 4-0 defeat at Liverpool. We did that by beating Sunderland and hopefully we’ll continue at West Brom.”

Coach Tim Sherwood is expected to keep faith with young forward Harry Kane after the young striker scored his first Premier League goal against the Black Cats. With Roberto Soldado injured, Kane, 20, should be given a run in the team between now and the end of the campaign.
