If Alexis Sanchez was as good as he thinks he would still be at Barcelona, not Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez needs to back up his big talk.

The Arsenal forward might think he’s on the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo but, both literally and figuratively, he is not in the same league. If he was, he would still be in La Liga with Barcelona.

The Chilean has given hints of his quality in his two years at the Emirates but has not imposed himself fully. This week, in the Champions League, Sanchez can back up his statement with action.

The fixtures have worked out well for Arsenal and playing Paris St Germain away so early in the season will suit Arsene Wenger’s men.

Unai Emery’s squad have injuries in defence. They believe they are going to be better as a unit without Zlatan Ibrahimovic but have not gelled yet.

It’s time for Sanchez to show he can inspire Arsenal to greatness. The Parc des Princes in the Champions League would be a perfect place to start.
