The Italian media paid tribute to Inter Milan today after their season-ending victory over Siena secured the Nerazzurri a fifth straight Serie A crown.
Second-placed Roma won their game at Chievo and for a moment looked to have a chance of snatching the Scudetto, but Diego Milito later scored a solitary goal at Siena to see Inter finish two points ahead of the Giallorossi in the standings.
Gazzetta dello Sport hailed the Nerazzurri's potential treble-winning campaign.
"Inter of Italy; it's two! After the Coppa Italia and the Scudetto, now Europe," read its front page.
Gazzetta also turned its attention to Inter coach Jose Mourinho's future at the club.
Mourinho has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer but he insisted yesterday that he would only make a decision on his future after Saturday's Champions League final against Bayern Munich in Madrid.
Gazzetta's editorial reads: "One (Milito) for all, and all for Mou(Mourinho)."
Rome's Corriere dello Sport also congratulated Inter.
Its front page read: "A dream Inter, now the champions.
"Milito's goal hands Inter its fourth straight Scudetto on the pitch."
Juventus were stripped of the 2006 title due to the match-fixing scandal and Inter, who had finished runners-up that season, were handed the crown.
Corriere continued: "On Saturday, Inter will look to clinch a title that has been missing for 45 years."
Tuttosport highlighted the difficulty endured by Inter at Siena - the Nerazzurri were made to sweat before clinching their 18th league title.
The front page read: "Inter champions. The Nerazzurri suffer at Siena but Milito's Scudetto goal made Roma's win at Chievo useless."
National newspaper La Repubblica also focused on Mourinho's possible departure.
It said: "Inter's Scudetto and tears from Mourinho: 'I don't feel at home'."
Only one newspaper opted to lead with runners-up Roma on its front page.
The Giallorossi had earlier in the season been 14 points behind Inter but battled back to move into first place, only to narrowly miss out.
Rome's national newspaper, Il Tempo, proclaimed: "Thank you Roma, you never stopped believing."
