It's all Arsenal in our London Team of the Week as Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and others impress

Star man: Santi Cazorla

What a difference a couple of games make.

Two Saturdays ago, Arsenal went down 3-2 at Stoke, and footage emerged of a group of irate Arsenal fans verbally abusing Arsene Wenger at a train station later that evening.

Seven days later, Arsenal had scored eight goals in two games and the manager’s name could be heard ringing around the Emirates.

The Gunners’ turnaround in fortunes is reflected in their dominance of our London Team of the Week, compiled with WhoScored.com.

No less than seven Arsenal players make the cut for us this week.

The star man is Santi Cazorla, who marked his 30th birthday with two goals in the 4-1 win over the Newcastle on Saturday. The other strikes came courtesy of Olivier Giroud, who leads this week’s attack.

Alexis Sanchez’s form shows no sign of fading – he provided the cross for Giroud’s first goal – while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was impressive in a central midfield role.

At the back, Hector Bellerin made the most of Arsenal’s defensive injuries by delivering a fine display, while Mathieu Debuchy performed competently in an unfamiliar central berth.

Rounding up the Arsenal contingent is Wojciech Szczesny, who pulled off some excellent saves to stop Newcastle finding a way back into the match.

Arsenal’s rivals Tottenham secured a big win away to Swansea on Sunday, with Christian Eriksen striking late to secure the three points.

The Denmark international was assisted by Ben Davies, who was solid in defence alongside Federico Fazio.

Rounding up the team is Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak, who helped the Eagles record a point at home to Stoke.
