Lee Carsley says Brentford are playing with confidence again after watching his side beat Wolves.

Carsley has now won back‑to‑back matches after starting his spell as interim manager last month with successive defeats.

“I thought the players got what they deserved,” said Carsley. “It was a good performance all round from start to finish. They worked really hard, closed Wolves down. We looked a real threat in possession. We passed the ball, played with a lot of confidence and it just goes to show how quickly it can change in football.

“The last two games have been excellent and it’s important now we follow up it against Charlton on Saturday.”

Marco Djuricin put Brentford ahead from close range in the first half and substitute Philipp Hofmann struck late on as Brentford moved up to 15th in the Championship.

Carsley added: “We played with energy and enthusiasm and, with that, comes your confidence.”
