Jack Grealish misses England training but no fears over fresh injury blow before Scotland Euros clash

Jack Grealish missed England training on Tuesday morning, but there are no fears that the Aston Villa captain has suffered a recurrence of the shin injury that hampered him last season.

England trained at their St George’s Park headquarters on Tuesday and Grealish was a notable absentee from the main group going through their paces outside.

The midfielder was instead indoors working individually as part of his wider load management at the tournament.

There are no fears that Grealish has a fresh injury and he will naturally hope to be involved against Scotland on Friday.

Grealish missed large parts of the second half of the 2020/21 Premier League season due to a shin problem, but proved his fitness to make the squad for Euro 2020.

He did not play in England’s opening Group D win over Croatia on Sunday, remaining an unused substitute at Wembley.

There had been fitness concerns over John Stones and Harry Kane after that 1-0 victory over Croatia, but both players trained on Tuesday morning along with Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, who is recovering from an ankle injury.

Earlier on Tuesday, England announced that Dean Henderson had withdrawn from the squad with a hip problem and would be replaced by Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
