This afternoon's clash between Arsenal and Leicester at the Emirates Stadium has certainly lived up to its billing at the halfway stage.

However, events have not gone to plan for Arsene Wenger's side as they attempt to cut the Foxes' lead at the top of the table.

The hosts are trailing at the break after falling behind to a controversial Jamie Vardy penalty.

The England international was sent sprawling by Nacho Monreal and referee Martin Atkinson did not hesitate to point to the spot.

The Spanish full-back was aggrieved by the decision and protested profusely, but it did not matter as Vardy dusted himself down to smash the ball home from 12 yards.

Vardy's finish was unquestionable but the manner in which he went to ground beforehand has been the subject of debate.

Did he exaggerate the contact between himself and Monreal? Or was the Gunners' defender caught hook, line and sinker?
