West Ham fans throw fake money at Jesse Lingard during Nottingham Forest clash

West Ham fans lobbed fake pound notes onto the pitch at the City Ground as they were reunited with Jesse Lingard for the first time since his summer move to Nottingham Forest.

Lingard joined Forest during the current transfer window on a free transfer after his contract with Manchester United expired at the end of last season.

It had been thought the attacking midfielder would move to the Hammers, where he had a successful loan spell two seasons ago, but he snubbed them for a move to the Midlands instead.

Lingard is thought to have earned a lucrative contract by joining Forest and West Ham supporters took Sunday’s game as the chance to accuse the England international of rejecting them for a pay day.

Hammers fans brought fake pound notes to the game and threw them onto the pitch when Forest wing-back Neco Williams was taking a corner early on in the first-half.
