Chelsea captain John Terry is on course to make his comeback against Tottenham on Monday night.

Standard Sport revealed earlier this month that the centre-back was targeting playing in the Spurs game as he tried to recover from a hamstring and Achilles problem.

It is believed the 35-year-old trained with the Under-21s yesterday and is joining up with the first team squad today.

Chelsea haven't lost at home to Spurs since 1990 and Terry is desperate to help keep that record intact.

The former England captain has the added incentive of making sure their London rivals don't win the title should leaders Leicester lose at Manchester United on Sunday.

Terry has been out of action since sustaining the Achilles and hamsting injuries in Chelsea's 5-1 win over Newcastle in February.

He recently underwent platelet rich plasma therapy, which was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency until 2011, in a bid to speed up his recovery and now looks set to play when Chelsea host Spurs on Monday night.
