Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho sparked outrage among Juventus home fans as he celebrated his side's remarkable Champions League comeback win in Turin.

A late free-kick from Juan Mata and a scrappy own goal off Alex Sandro gave United a crucial 2-1 victory after Cristiano Ronaldo's sensational volley had looked like securing top spot for Juventus.

At full-time Mourinho walked onto the pitch and cupped his ear to the stands, prompting Juventus captain Leonardo Bonucci to confront the United boss.

Mourinho was an unpopular figure with Juventus fans during his time in Italy as manager of Inter Milan.

In the reverse fixture at Old Trafford last month, Mourinho made a three fingered gesture at the visiting supporters in reference to the treble he won with Inter in 2009/10 - including the Serie A title which was clinched with a 2-0 win against Juve.

The rivalry between Inter Milan and Juventus is among the most hostile in Italian football, with fixtures between the two known as the Derby d’Italia – the Derby of Italy.
