Jose Mourinho has hinted that captain John Terry is playing well enough to remain at Chelsea for several more years.
He confirmed once again that the 34-year-old will be given a new contract, but believes he can carry on for some time yet.
He added: “(His contract) will be agreed before the end of the season for sure. I can guarantee that he will a Chelsea player next season.
“I know what the board and the player tells me so there are no doubts he is going to get his contract. I think it’s something like that (Terms agreed but just not signed).
“Every one of these big guys is a difficult man to replace. At the same time, when you still have the player who is an important one, you have to think what next. That’s the best way to do things.
“Sometimes you have the solution just around the corner, sometimes you don’t and have to look outside your club.
“But this is a process we can take our time over because John is proving again this season that he a player for years.

“When I came back (in 2013) he was coming off a difficult period. He had a good season last year but is even better this season. Normally he has time to enjoy his football with us and he gives us time to think about what’s next.”
