Jose Mourinho and Mikel Arteta press conferences hit with technical difficulties ahead of north London derby

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho and his Arsenal counterpart Mikel Arteta both saw their press conferences fall victim to technology issues on Thursday evening.

Mourinho and Arteta had been due to separately preview this Sunday's north London derby but were both left frustrated after experiencing technical problems over video-conferencing platform Zoom.

Mourinho walked out of his post-match briefing immediately after Thursday's abject 0-0 draw at Bournemouth when he was unable to hear the opening question from a journalist in the Vitality Stadium press box.

Cherries manager Eddie Howe had no issues conducting his briefing but the audio appeared to fail for Mourinho, who tried wearing headphones before throwing up his hands and leaving the auditorium in frustration. He had been due to review the stalemate before previewing Sunday's fixture against Arsenal.

Premier League rules state that managers must hold a press conference before each game and Spurs promised to rearrange a briefing for Friday.

Arteta also had his press conference postponed on Thursday evening.

The Spaniard had been due to address the media at 7pm ahead of the Gunners' first visit to Spurs' new stadium but it was postponed minutes before it was due to start. Like Mourinho, Arteta was suffering from technical issues on Zoom.

The press conference was subsequently moved to Friday at 9:45am.
