Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has launched a sensational attack on Jose Mourinho, claiming that the Chelsea boss ‘differs from him on all fronts’.

Pellegrini’s side were unable to retain their Premier League crown last season, as the Blues secured their third title under Mourinho by eight points, and their first since his return as manager.

Speaking at Chelsea’s end-of-season awards ceremony last month Mourinho, 52, poked fun at the Blues title rivals, claiming that ‘there is one team that would like to play without goals’ – believed to be a dig at runners-up City.

Pellegrini has called on Mourinho to keep quiet following his title triumph.

“When he wins, Mourinho wants to take credit for everything,” said Pellegrini, according to the Sun. “I never do that.”

“When I won the Premier League, I didn’t say a word.”

Pellegrini was replaced at Real Madrid by Mourinho back in 2010, but the City boss insists he does not have a problem with the Portuguese coach.

“I don’t have any problem with Mourinho, he’s not my enemy and there isn’t any conflict – but I differ from him on all fronts,” Pellegrini added.

“I have no interest in analysing him as a person.”
