'Jose Mourinho's game plan in the bin after 30 seconds' - Twitter reacts to Pedro's early goal for Chelsea against Manchester United

Jose Mourinho's Stamford Bridge return was spoilt just 30 seconds in as Pedro guided Chelsea into an early lead against Manchester United on Sunday.

Heralded at times for his side's defensive displays during his second spell as Chelsea boss, Mourinho oversaw a goalless draw against Liverpool in similar fashion on Monday and was expected to employ similar tactics on his first trip back to west London.

But such plans would have been quickly thrust aside as Marcos Alonso's lofted through ball beat Daley Blind and Chris Smalling to find Pedro, who took one touch to round David De Gea and another to find the empty net.

The Spaniard's strike was the fastest in the Premier League this season to date and Chelsea fans aimed chants of 'you're getting sacked in the morning' at their former manager in the dugout.

And things got worse for United as Gary Cahill doubled the Blues advantage in the 21st minute. The England international leathered a knock-down into the roof of De Gea's net to put Antonio Conte's men in charge at the Bridge as United struggled to settle.

Below, we've pulled out the best reactions to the early onslaught on Twitter

The Blues will go into the top four with victory and slice the gap to Premier League pace-setters Manchester City to one point, while Mourinho's United will remain six points off top and winless in three in the top flight.
